Our fourth annual Silent Auction shall be held on July 6th – a Saturday.
Please consider donating, or contacting a local business to donate, to our cause. All donations are tax deductible.
In the past we experimented with the auction by generally keeping the process limited to the 12 Step community. This year we are venturing out and inviting the public to participate in both donations to the auction and purchases on the day of the auction. All of the receipts go into our general fund which we use to pay operating expenses and to do preservation work on our property at the Hax Mansion at 401 S. 11th street. We encourage our Museum Hill Neighborhood friends to get involved.

Our Silent Auction format is simple:
The day starts at 12:00 noon – the auction is open.
Every hour, starting at noon, we have a speaker. The time allotted for each speaker is 30 minutes, then a 30 minute break. Speakers start at noon, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00. For those not familiar with 12 Step speakers we can say that these talks are open to the public and, while often personal in nature, are educational on the topic of addiction.
At 4:00 we have a pot luck dinner. We are working on that issue for this year. Some have suggested having chili or spaghetti. The past two auction the Alano Club supplied fried chicken from Green Hills supplemented by a pot luck dinner. We will decide this by the end of May.
The auction closes at 6:00 PM. Items are paid for and taken by the highest bidder.
To recap – help us out. We are not looking for garage sale items. Please contact local businesses and procure physical items or gift certificates and call Craig. Then be sure to come to the auction and participate.
